Friedman’s Andrew Bower & Alan Stern Secure Lease with Corktown Bodega at Perennial in Detroit, MI

Farmington Hills, MI –  (November 11, 2022 ) Friedman Real Estate, one of the nation’s leading providers of commercial real estate services, recently leased ±2,000 SF of retail space located on the ground floor of the Class A mixed use development, Perennial, on Michigan Ave in Corktown. The new tenant, Corktown Bodega, is two local businessmen who currently own and operate a market in Midtown Detroit, Cass Corridors Midtown Market.

It’s been well recognized that there is a growing need for grocery stores in Detroit and Corktown will soon be home to one. Corktown Bodega will be full-service neighborhood grocery store focused on bringing fresh, affordable, and local products to Corktown. The bodega will include a full-service deli and coffee bar serving a variety of prepared foods and drinks.  Dine in and outdoor seating will be provided. Retail tenants are slated to open Q3 2023.

Perennial is located 0.2 Miles from the new Ford/Google train station and adjacent to the upscale luxury hotel, The Godfrey. Friedman’s Andrew Bower and Alan Stern advised both the parties in the transaction.
